Enabling WiFi Pass on a Location
Prerequisites
- Guest Connect is already enabled on the location
- A compatible WiFi controller is connected with at least one SSID in WiFi Pass mode
- WiFi Pass is activated on your Wiacom plan
Steps
Choose Provisioning Mode
Under WiFi Pass → Settings:
| Mode | Description |
|---|---|
| Instant | Passphrase created on registration, shown on thank-you page and emailed immediately |
| Confirmed | Guest confirms their email first; passphrase sent in a follow-up email |
Set Credential Expiry
Under WiFi Pass → Expiry:
| Option | Detail |
|---|---|
| No expiry | Passphrases never expire (default) |
| Fixed period | Expires N days after provisioning |
| Rolling period | Expires N days after the guest’s last connection |
Your WiFi controller does not natively enforce PSK expiry. Wiacom enforces expiry by revoking credentials on the controller on an hourly schedule.
Configure the Email Template
Go to WiFi Pass → Email to customize the credential delivery email. In Confirmed mode you have two emails to configure: the confirmation request and the credential delivery.
Managing Credentials
Go to WiFi Pass → Credentials to manage all guest passphrases:| Action | Effect |
|---|---|
| Suspend | Immediately revoked on the controller; can be restored |
| Restore | Re-activates a suspended credential |
| Delete | Permanently removed from Wiacom and the controller |
| Expire now | Forces immediate expiry |
